My parents brought me to the Marina Barrage today and I got some alright photos in, nothing fantastic. We didn't really explore the whole place thoroughly, seeing as how my parents were kinda tired? Hoping that the next time we go, I'll be able to go to the other parts such as the Solar Park, Roof Garden and the like.

( The Singapore Tourism Board should consider hiring me as a photographer...Oh wait, they want people who aren't crap at photography. Whooooops. )




On a related note, I took a photo of the Singapore Flyer way back in April and uploaded it to my other flickr account. (I only created a new one because I hit the limit on the previous one.), didn't really check on it until late October maybe? And guess what?!? That one photo of the Singapore Flyer garnered over 500 views! Not sure whether those are unique views but WHOOPEE!

While, that's awesome and all, I feel puzzled at the number of views seeing as I don't really post my photos anywhere but my own LJ, in addition to the fact that before this? If I was lucky, my photo would get a single view...Strange but I'm guessing that somebody must have liked it and posted it somewhere public. Thank you whoever you are?

Now I'm addicted to it...Well, I guess it's alright, seeing as it's for a good cause but I got kinda demoralized after I realized that in order for me to feed rice to a single person for a whole day (which is 2 meals' worth), I'll have to score 19,200 points on the FreeRice vocab game. Not easy seeing as how for every word you get right, you only score 20 points ;_;

Aaaaaand I just calculated that that'll mean I have to get 960 words right. So it's not that bad? But it's just extremely time consuming. I guess if I were to play this game every day, I would split it up into 3 different times where I play it.

Heh, this post doesn't have a central theme running through it but I wanted to post a few icons of Greta & Bob that I made earlier. Some of them are kinda, okay, fine, EXTREEEEEEEMELY crappy, because I generally lost interest as I made more and more icons. What can I say? I have a short attention span.

...I still have TONS of photos from my trip to the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research of stuffed animals and I...still don't know what to do with them.

I'm kind of planning to post a photo of a certain animal and posting a bit of info underneath, so it won't be that pointless, along with some of comments on random stuff that happened on that visit.

I'm currently typing this one-and-a-half-handedly because there are two big cuts on the fingers of my left hand because of the Eczema :/

Anyway! I finally got around to uploading some of the photos I took at last week's IT Club session where we fooled around with the macro function on our cameras :D You can probably tell how much I SUCK at this when I say it was...hard to use that function because it can go from a clear picture to a fuzzy one if your hands shake a bit.

I got some pretty decent (by my standards...which y'know are preeeeeeeetty low XD) photos of flowers which were planted at the fish pond of the primary school side of our school (it's a combined school with both primary & secondary levels). I'm not sure what these flowers are but they're EXTREMELY pretty! One of them even looks like they have pink stars growing in the middle of it :D

So I finally stopped being lazy about uploading photos from my camera to the laptop and here are the results?

I've been playing around with the camera on the feature 'Colour Accents', I think, or it might have been 'Colour Swap'. Yeah, I'm a total novice at this photography thing that I can't even remember what features I used XD


Ugh, and on an unrelated note, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE IT IS THE WEEKEND AND I STILL HAVE A SHIT TON OF HOMEWORK TO DO? Yeah, I should probably get off the Internet but I have a reason! One of the homework assignments involves research of the Maori Culture and World War I.

Ahahahahaha, so it seems that the 'hiatus' period is kinda over? I just realized it was more of a matter of not being on LJ as much as I used to, not taking a complete, full out hiatus and probably just spamming everybody's fpages with more crappy photography XD

\O/, I just realised what my *mebbe* dream job is.

A photographer who takes shots of food for hotels/restaurants/etc? I'm not sure whether there's a niche for that but it would be AWESOME if I could take photos of food and then, if the person requesting the photos permits, be able to gobble up all the food after the shoot. Though I doubt anybody would hire me if I *demanded* the 2nd Diva-Like request.

Haha! This camera really is 'idiot-proof', dudes. I didn't even have to manually adjust any settings and I got this on my first attempt. I haven't really done much photography so nothing worthy of whatever is the photo equal of an Oscar ;)
